Accessibility statement

Version: 21 September 2026 Applies to: the website rectake.de

Why this statement is voluntary

Germany's Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) has applied since 28 June 2025. It does not cover this website: no contract is initiated or concluded here — the subscription is bought in the App Store or on Google Play — and the provider is a micro-enterprise within the meaning of § 3(3) BFSG.

We hold ourselves to the standard the law sets anyway: WCAG 2.1 at level AA, as referenced by the European standard EN 301 549. A website about a diary you only have to talk to would not be credible otherwise.

What has been checked

Date of the check: 21 September 2026, across every page of this website.

Result: by our own assessment this website conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA, with the exceptions listed in the next section. The check was done by us, not by an external body.

  • Contrast. All text colours reach at least 4.5 : 1 against their background, and the borders of input fields, disclosure widgets and buttons at least 3 : 1 — calculated, not estimated. This holds in light and dark mode.
  • Structure. Every page has exactly one main heading and an unbroken heading sequence. A “Skip to content” link sits at the start of every page. The language is declared, as is every switch to the other language version.
  • Images and icons. Every image carries a descriptive alternative text. The site's icons are hidden from screen readers; what they mean is written next to them as text.
  • Keyboard. Everything is reachable by keyboard, focus is visible, there are no keyboard traps. Click targets are at least 44 pixels.
  • Motion. If you choose “Reduce motion” in your operating system, you get a page without animations.
  • Forms. Every field has a visible label. Feedback — “you're on the list”, “that didn't work” — is announced as a status message.
  • Nothing rushes you. No time limits, no autoplay, nothing flashes.

What is not, or only partly, accessible

Stated plainly, so nobody has to find out by trying:

  • The example report reproduces the app's PDF layout one to one. It is readable as text, but its contrast has not been checked separately.
  • The try-it panel on the home page (“Say one sentence — here”) shows what a spoken sentence turns into. It works with a keyboard; with screen readers it has not been tested on every combination of device and software. Everything in it is also available as ordinary text on the page.
  • The app itself — RecTake for iOS and Android — is not covered by this statement.

Feedback

If something on this website gets in your way, or you find a spot that does not work: support@rectake.de. We usually reply within two working days and tell you what we will change — or why not.

Competent authority

For services that fall under the BFSG, the competent body in Germany is the Marktüberwachungsstelle der Länder für die Barrierefreiheit von Produkten und Dienstleistungen (MLBF) at the Landesverwaltungsamt Sachsen-Anhalt in Magdeburg. This website does not fall under the BFSG; the information is given here for completeness.

RecTake is a diary, not a medical device. The app makes no diagnosis and is no substitute for medical or pharmaceutical advice.

This site counts visits with Google Analytics, but only if you agree. The app itself measures nothing.
